Chroma key is one of the most used features in any editing and designing app. It’s a powerful, simple, and very useful feature available in Alight Motion, commonly used to overlay subjects on different scenes.
What is Chroma Key
Chroma key, also known as green screen, is a powerful feature in Alight Motion.
It basically removes a specific color from the background of a video—usually a solid color like green or blue.
It works similar to a PNG image (transparent background), but in video format.
It’s mostly used for making cinematic videos, reaction edits, gaming overlays, or fun memes.
Chroma key is a must-have feature.
Steps to Remove Background Using Chroma Key:
1. Open Alight Motion and Create a Project
- Tap the + icon.
- Choose your aspect ratio, set resolution and frame rate (optional).
- Tap Create Project.
2. Import Media
- Tap the + icon and import your green or blue screen clip.
- Add your background video/image below the green screen clip in the layer panel.
3. Apply Chroma Key
- Select your green screen layer.
- Go to Effects → scroll down to Keying → choose Chroma Key.
4. Adjust Chroma Key Settings
- Use the color picker to select the green (or blue) color from your clip.
- Adjust these settings:
- Similarity
- Smoothness
- Opacity
- Feather
- Fine-tune these values to remove the green glow or unwanted edges.
5. Preview and Final Touch
- Preview your video.
- Check the edges.
- Add shadows, borders, or other effects if needed for a clean blend.
